COVID-19 Policy Statement

Updated May 20, 2022

The safety of our attendees and presenters is a top priority for the Psychometric Society. In making the decision to host a live meeting, we carefully weighed the risks and benefits and believe that, with the appropriate precautions, the IMPS 2022 Meeting can safely take place with minimal risk to our attendees.

To this end, we will follow the guidelines of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDPC), the CDC, as well as any applicable regulations of the Italian Ministry of Health, the host university or local government agencies. We will work with the University and Local Committee to facilitate social distancing, and to make sure that meeting areas, and public areas are regularly cleaned and sanitized.  For those traveling from other countries, you should be aware of any COVID related travel issues from your country of origin, including possible testing, vaccination, quarantine, or self isolation protocols when returning after the meeting.

This may also include mask requirements while in meeting rooms, lecture halls, event spaces, and indoor public areas. Additionally, we will strive to set up meeting rooms, reception areas, poster areas, registration areas, and public spaces under our control in a way that will facilitate appropriate social distancing.

We strongly encourage all of our members and attendees to obtain a vaccination prior to coming to the meeting. In many countries, vaccines are free and available through your primary care provider, as well as through pharmacies and clinics.

As the pandemic continues to evolve, we will closely monitor the situation and will modify our plan to provide the best balance between safety and accessibility.

Please note that, in following guidelines and regulations, we may be required to modify attendee requirements. This may include requiring proof of vaccination to attend the meeting and participate. Any updates will be posted on this page, as well as emailed to those who have registered for the meeting.

Please note that by attending and participating in IMPS 2022 Meeting being held July 11-15, 2022, in Bologna, Italy you agree to abide by all guidance, recommendations and requirements to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, including but not limited to, engaging in appropriate social distancing, wearing a mask in public areas, if required, and observing rules of room capacity limits. You also agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and, if you believe that you may be infected or exposed, to remove yourself from participation and interaction with others. By attending this meeting, you agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Psychometric Society, its employees, officers, agents, contractors, local committee, sponsors, and sponsored venues, of and from any claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to my voluntary attendance at IMPS 2022 meeting, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the IMPS Meeting.

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel medical insurance. Contact your health insurance provider before traveling to make sure you are covered. Most policies DO NOT provide coverage outside of the country. Travel medical insurance is available for very low cost through numerous sources. Here is an article listing the Best Travel Insurance Companies of May 2022.
