Psychometrika Converting to Open Access!

New agreement with Cambridge University Press for 2025

The Psychometric Society and Cambridge University Press are pleased to announce that Psychometrika will transition to publication by Cambridge University Press and convert to a fully gold open access publication model for all authors in 2025. Volume 90 (2025) will be the first published entirely open access.  By removing barriers to access Psychometrika, articles will be able to reach a wider audience of global researchers, furthering the Society’s mission to advance theory and methodology for data analysis throughout the social and behavioral sciences.

IMPS 2024 Graduate Research Competition

The 2024 IMPS Graduate Student Research Competition calls for proposals on the use of generative AI, such as ChatGPT, to advance psychometric research. The competition is open to all graduate students who can form teams of up to 5 people. Each team is required to submit a proposal outlining their study design, research questions, data sources or collection plan, and analysis methods.

New Executive Editor for Psychometrika

After a highly successful and extended term as Executive Editor of Psychometrika, Dr. Matthias von Davier will transition out of the role as Dr. Sandip Sinharay becomes Executive Editor. Dr. Sinharay began handling new submissions July 1, 2023 and will assume full responsibilities as Executive Editor January 1, 2024. Dr. Sinharay is a Distinguished Presidential Appointee in the Research & Development division at Educational Testing Service and comes to the position of Executive Editor with a wealth of editorial experience.
