Travel Award

Post

The Psychometric Society Travel Awards support travel to the International Meeting of the Psychometric Society (IMPS) for graduate students wishing to present their work at the conference.

Applications will be judged by the quality of methodological innovation or creative application of statistical analysis to an issue in psychometrics.

The awardees will have their IMPS registration fees waived and will receive $500 ($1,000 if intercontinental travel is required) to support their trip to the conference.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must be graduate students at the time of the conference.

Application

Applications for the award can be made when submitting an abstract for the upcoming IMPS (deadline TBD).

In addition to submitting an abstract, the applicant must submit the following via the abstract submission website:

  • A 3-page document that includes a summary of the research, a clear justification of your budget, including access to alternative funding sources to support travel to the conference. In addition, include any involvement in the academic community, and explain how your research aligns with the conference themes.

Selection Panel

Three reviewers are appointed by the awards committee each year, with diverse representation in areas of expertise and institutions. Reviewers with a conflict of interest with an applicant should declare it and provide no score. Reviewers provide their scores independently.
