If you want to take a little break, visit the Rechberg baroque garden, just a few steps down from the Mensa on Hirschengraben street.
The University is conveniently located within walking distance of Zurich’s beautiful historic city center, with a view of Lake Zurich and the Swiss Alps. The conference venue can be reached by short public transport or even by foot from many hotels in the city center. The closest tram stop to the University is ETH/Universitätsspital. When you look for hotels outside of the conference room block, it is recommended to check their proximity to a public transport station.
How to get to the conference venue?
We strongly recommend arrival by foot or by public transport since there is no parking directly at the conference venue. To find the best means of public transport for your trips within the city of Zurich, click here to open the online timetable of the Zurich public transport provider.
Fill in your current location in field A (“from”), and your destination in field B (“to”). Both A and B can be either the names of public transport stops or street addresses. Then press “search connections” and choose one.
For getting to the conference venue, choose either of the following options as your destination in field B ("to"):
- Zürich, Rämistrasse 71 (the closest tram stop to the university's street address is Neumarkt, from which you need to walk a few minutes uphill)
- Zürich, ETH/Universitätsspital (this is the closest tram stop on the same level as the building)
- Zürich, Kantonsschule (this is another tram stop, from which you need to walk a few minutes slightly uphill)
- It is also possible to take the historic “Polybahn” funicular from Central up to the ETH and walk (2 min.) to the conference from there.
