Information for Speakers

To accommodate as many talks as possible, up to 5 presentations will be included in each 90-minute session of contributed talks. Up to eight of these 90-minute sessions will run in parallel from Monday, July 13 - Wednesday, July 15.

Download the Parallel Sessions schedule and search for your name to find out the time of your talk. You can also download the Abstract Book for Talks.

Each individual presentation runs for 18 minutes, including approximately 16 minutes for the talk and 2 minutes for questions and answers. Each session has a chair who will keep the time and take questions from the audience. You can find the name of the session chair in the document referred to above. Please arrive at the room at least 5 minutes before the session starts and introduce yourself to the chair immediately.

In the unfortunate event that you cannot present your talk, please let the organizers know immediately by sending an email to If you do not send an email in advance and are not present at the beginning of the session, the session chair will have to make last-minute arrangements and announce the problem to the audience.

All session rooms have been requested to be equipped with an LCD video projector, PC computer with DVD drive, USB hub, Wireless Internet connection, audio for the computer, a projection screen, wireless lavaliere microphone, laser pen (slide advancer and laser pointer), podium, and a wired microphone. (Equipment listed per session room could vary pending room size/inventory.) You can bring your talk on a USB memory stick (also known as USB flash drive) and copy the file (typically powerpoint or PDF) onto the PC before the session starts. See here for Instructions on how to use the laser pen.

If a speaker is interested in using a Mac for their lecture, please inform the Society Conference Staff at least 4 hours prior to your session start time.
