Delft is one of the oldest and best preserved towns in the Netherlands. The historic city center is the greatest attraction of the city; it is crammed with 17th and 18th Century houses, streets that overlook canals, magnificent public buildings, outdoor markets, and a surprising number of museums for such a small town. Delft was home to the famous painter Johannes Vermeer, (1632-1675) whose "view over Delft" is one of the masterpieces of Dutch painting, to Anthonie van Leeuwenhoek, the inventor of the microscope, and to the renowned lawmaker Hugo Grotius. The city is also famous for it's 'Delft blue porcelain'.
The excursion to Delft includes:
- a roundtrip by boat through the canals
- a guided city walk
- free program to have diner and look around in the town
- transport from Tilburg to Delft and vice versa
- coffee and cake
